GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA.  -- Gwynedd Mercy fell 1-0 at home to Widener Tuesday evening in non-conference action under the lights.

The Pride's Margaret Howe-Consiglio netted the game's only score with just over a minute in the third quarter as she got a deflection off a shot on a penalty corner.

The Griffins withstood 11 corners while goalie Abi Kennedy recorded four saves as the teams combined for 10 shots on the evening. Gwynedd had their lone corner early in the final frame.

Allison Campbell almost got GMercyU on the board late in the fourth as her one timer from 10 feet out on a crossing pass into the shooting circle was a wide left by less than a foot.

The team will look to rebound on Saturday when they host Marywood in a big Atlantic East Conference showdown beginning at 3 p.m.
