ARLINGTON, VA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Women's Basketball team returned back to action to start the New Year on the road at Atlantic East Conference foe Marymount University, but it was the Saints giving the Griffins a 84-47 setback Saturday afternoon.
Twelve different Griffins found the scoring column with
Shannon Carroll leading the way with a team-high nine points and seven rebounds.
Olivia Roseman,
Sydney Thompson,
Susan Bossler and
Monet McGorda all connected on three pointers for the visitors.
Marymount led by 16 after the first quarter. GMercyU would answer in the second, going point-for-point and matching the Saints in the scoring column. However the Griffins were only good from 20% from the floor in the second half as the deficit widened.
The Saints were led by Regan Lohr with a game high 22 points. Gabriella Haddad added 19 points with Katie McShea totaling 13.
The Griffins return back to action on Wednesday at Neumann University at 6 p.m.
