ASTON, PA. -- Neumann defeated Gwynedd Mercy, 80-63, Wednesday night in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.
Shannon Carroll paced the Griffins with 19 points and eight rebounds.
Olivia Roseman contributed eight points, five boards, five assists and three steals.
Nafisa Saunders scored a game-high 27 points for the Knights, as Neumann pulled away late in the fourth quarter.
After leading 17-15 after the first, Carroll totaled 10 points in the second. The Knights gradually built a six-point edge late in the frame, but GMercyU closed the gap with five-straight points to close out the stanza and trail, 35-34, at the half.
A late three-pointer in the third gave Neumann a 56-48 advantage leading into the final quarter. Gwynedd wrestled the deficit down to 64-59 on a three-point play from Carrol with 5:46 to play, however the Knights closed the game on a 16-4 run.
On Saturday, the Griffins welcome Immaculata in conference action to The Griffin Complex in a 1 p.m. tip.
