GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Two second-half goals was the difference as DeSales posted a 2-0 victory over Gwynedd Mercy Wednesday night.

Freshman goalie Joe Duffy made his first collegiate start and finished the evening with three saves.

The first half started with the Bulldogs producing 10 shots, but the Griffins prevailed, keeping the game scoreless. GMercyU had a prime scoring chance in the first, as a breakaway from Evan Kirby off a nice through pass ended with a shot that was just wide right.

DeSales broke the stalemate with a goal with 20:06 left from Drew Monteleone-Haught. Less than four minutes later, Sean Tunney made it 2-0. The Bulldogs held a 16-7 shooting advantage on the night. T.J. Corcoran recorded five saves for DSU (4-2).

The Griffins (0-4) return back to action this Saturday when they welcome Widener in a noon start.
