DALLAS, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Basketball team fell to Salve Regina 73-59, in the second day of the Sisters of Mercy Tournament hosted by Misericordia University.
Susan Bossler led the Griffins with a career-high 24 points connecting on five three pointers.
Sydney Thompson pulled down a team-high nine rebounds while adding six points.
Chyanne Fine rounded out the scoring with eight points and six boards.
Bossler was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts.
Olivia Roseman earned the Sisters of Mercy Award.
The Griffins led early 13-9 thanks to a
Marisa Sullivan jumper with just under four minutes remaining in the first quarter. GMercyU held a 15-12 lead after the first stanza.
A
Monet McGorda bucket with 6:08 remaining in the half would give the Griffins their largest lead at ten (22-12). GMercyU would take a 27-22 lead into the halftime break.
Salve Regina would respond in the second half outscoring the Griffins 51-32 and scoring thirty points in the final quarter to hold off the Gwynedd comeback.
Torie Scorpio led the Seahawks, out of the Commonwealth Coast Conference, with a game-high 28 points.
The Griffins return back to action on Wednesday when they travel to DeSales University at 6 p.m.
