GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy had their hunt for a playoff spot come to an end as the Griffins fell 1-0 to Cabrini Saturday afternoon.

GMercyU needed at least a win or a tie in the final conference game of the year to try claim a spot in the Atlantic East Tournament.

Cabrini scored the lone goal in the first half when Brianna Blair scored on header off a corner kick with 18:27 before the break. Her attempt got away from Gwynedd goalie Kaliey Hopkins and snuck in on the right post.

Earlier in the stanza on a similar corner kick, Blair got a piece on the cross but her header towards the far post was cleared out by Tori Goebig to keep the game scoreless.

Hopkins finished the day with six saves. Ashley Tutzauer recorded three for the Cavaliers.

Gwynedd Mercy will close out the season on Wednesday as the team hosts Penn State-Brandywine at 7 p.m. on Senior Night.
