GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell to Neumann in a 2-0 battle Wednesday night in an Atlantic East Conference contest. A pair of goals from Kaitlin Thomas in the second half was the difference for the Knights.
Despite three shots from the Griffins and five from the Knights, the first half remained scoreless. All five Neumann shots were on goal, causing Hopkins to make five saves.
Kaitlin Thomas put the Knights on the board as she dribbled down field and sent the ball to the low left corner. She was able to score her second and final goal in almost the same exact way. Shoulder to shoulder with a Gwynedd defender, she was still able to send the ball to the low left corner.
The Knights did not allow Gwynedd to get a shot off in the second half, as the Griffins were outshot, 13-3.
Hopkins ended the night with six saves while Neumann goalie Anna Attardi only registered one for the shutout.
The Griffins return to action this Saturday against Cabrini for their last conference matchup needing a win to cement a playoff spot.
