IMMACULATA, PA. -- A first-half goal from Lauren Melino and five saves from goalie Kailey Hopkins gave Gwynedd Mercy their first Atlantic East Conference win of the season at Immaculata Saturday morning.

Melino connected on her first tally of the season in the 19th minute to give the Griffins (4-7-3, 1-3 Atlantic East), who ended a three-game skid, a much-needed victory.

Hopkins made four of her five saves in the second half, as the Mighty Macs fired off five of their seven shots over the final 45 minutes. The clean sheet was the fourth of the season for the senior and her 21st in her career.

Brooke Shissler recorded four stops for Immaculata (4-8, 1-2 Atlantic East).

Gwynedd Mercy hosts Neumann on Wednesday night in an Atlantic East Conference matchup starting at 7 p.m.
