DOVER, DE. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell at Wesley, 2-0, on Wednesday night in an Atlantic East Conference matchup.
The Griffins were able to hold off the Wolverines for the first 41:00 minutes of play until Mackenzie Forsythe sunk a pass from Emily Caldarelli for the first goal of the contest. In the first half, Wesley took twice the amount of shots as Gwynedd, but the Griffins' accuracy forced Isabelle Fabris to make three stops, keeping GMercyU off the board.
The second half started off with two saves from goalie
Kailey Hopkins in less than three minutes of play, but Forsythe quickly scored her second goal less than a minute later. Jada Simon had the assist on the second and final goal of the game. The Griffins put together seven shots in the second stanza, but were unable to cut into the deficit.
Hopkins ended the night with five saves and the team ended with 11 shots. Fabris was credited with seven stops.
Gwynedd Mercy faces their next conference matchup as they travel to Immaculata on Saturday in an 11 a.m. start.
