RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy opened its Colonial States Athletic Conference slate as the Griffins battled Cabrini to a scoreless tie on Saturday.

11 of the 23 all-time meetings between the two teams have gone to overtime and this marks the third scoreless draw in those contests.

The Griffins (2-3-1, 0-0-1 CSAC) were outshot (23-4) but held strong as goalie Kailey Hopkins made eight stops to keep the Cavaliers off the board. Likewise for Cabrini's Gabby LeGendre, who recorded four saves.

The Cavaliers (2-1-2, 0-0-1 CSAC) had their best chance in the second overtime, but a shot from Alex Garces clanked off the post.

Gwynedd will resume action on Wednesday when they travel to Cairn to continue CSAC play.
