CHESTER, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Men's Soccer Team was handed a 5-1 setback at Widener Saturday evening.
Tyler Blair was the lone Griffin goal scorer, as the sophomore netted his team-leading third tally on the season late in the contest.
John Colbert scored twice for the Pride (2-2-2) while teammate Logan Musselman added a goal and an assist.
Scores from Musselman and Kevin McKenna in the first half put GM (0-6) down by two at the half. Colbert registered his first on the day via a penalty kick in the second half. Minutes later, he would strike again off a helper from Musselman.
Blair had one of the two team shots on the night when he beat goalie Danny Thompson with 4:58 in the contest.
Thompson ended the game with one save. The goalie tandem of starter
Kace Peters and
Ryan Oyola combined to make seven stops.
Gwynedd Mercy will look to bounce back quickly, as they welcome Lancaster Bible on Monday in a 4 p.m. start.
