GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Defending champion Cabrini visited Gwynedd Mercy and came away with a 19-7 decision as the two teams met in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon.
For the Griffins (1-7, 1-2 CSAC), rookie
Samantha Brown totaled three goals while teammate
Lauren Mitros added a score and a pair of assists.
Aubrey Cook,
Christy Knipe, and
Kerri Flanagan also scored a goal in the contest.
The Cavaliers (8-2, 4-0 CSAC) had 11 different players find the back of the net, led by Avery Murphy who scored a game-high four goals. Liz Hoeffner added three tallies and two assists while Allie Vallen scored twice and doled out four assists.
Cabrini would build a 13-2 lead at halftime as they would fire off 20 shots in the first 30 minutes of action.
Goalie
Bria Gillard recorded five saves in net. The keeper trio of Megan Barlow, Devon Scharf, Noelia Ramirez combined to hold GMercyU to just seven goals.
Gwynedd Mercy hosts Keystone on Monday in a rescheduled contest in a 7 p.m. start.
