LAPLUME, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy won their fourth game in a row, winning 69-49 at Keystone Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest.
The win pushes the Griffins to 13-11 and 11-3 in conference play and in the hunt for a first-round home playoff game. With two games left in the regular season, GMercyU can control its own postseason path with victories to close out the year.
Charlotte Kucowski led all scorers with 16 points as she also connected on three of the team's five three-pointers on the day. Kucowski also snared a team high seven boards, tied a career-high with six blocks, and chipped in five steals and three assists.
Chyanne Fine contributed 10 points and four rebounds.
Julianna Hoisington kicked in nine while
Nicole Dombrowski and
Monet McGorda each had eight.
Down three early in the first, back-to-back buckets from Fine helped ignite an 11-0 run which opened up a 12-4 lead. GMercyU would lead 21-9 after the first quarter and go up 35-18 at the half, and not relinquish a double-digit lead the rest of the way in the conference victory.
Dyjae Williams led the Giants (6-17, 5-9 CSAC) with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Gwynedd Mercy will host Clarks Summit on Wednesday on Senior Night in the regular-season home finale.
