TOWSON, MD. -- Gwynedd Mercy had the hot hand in hitting a school-record 17 three-pointers while shooting over 62% from the floor in a 105-69 win at Goucher Wednesday night.

Four players finished in double figures as GMercyU used a 21-for-29 effort from the field and an incredible 12-for-16 mark from downtown in the first half to give the team a big lead at the half.

Will Davis led the charge with a game-high 16 points. Courtney Cubbage added 13, Rich Dunham with 12 and Matt Carter with 11. Rip Engel and Matt Sommers each dished out seven assists as the team totaled 28 dimes. For Sommers, the seven were a career-high.

Jacob Smith had 14 points for the Gophers (0-6) with teammates Dwayne Morton and Nate Kaniut adding 12 apiece.

A three from Ty Jones lit the fuse on a 19-0 run early in the first. The trifecta was one of 12 in the stanza to help the Griffins (5-1) take a 58-23 lead at the half. The 17 three's tied a Goucher Facility record for three-pointers made.

Gwynedd will welcome Cabrini here to The Griffin Complex on Saturday in a Colonial States Athletic Conference tilt starting at 1 p.m.
