GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. --
Meghan Petroski recorded her fifth career hat-trick as the Griffins scored a 4-0 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory over Neumann on Tuesday evening.
Samantha Brown broke a scoreless game in the 30th minute when she found the back of the net when she scored from the six yard line on a cross from the end line by Petroski.
Petroski would record the hat-trick in the second half with goals in the 48th, 63rd and 79th minutes respectively. It also was her second on the season.
Sarah Nedwick assisted the first of three when she played a through ball to find Petroski inside the eighteen to beat the keeper. The second came off the strikers head when
Grace Macnamara played a perfect ball to the near post on a set corner kick play. The third and final goal with assisted by
Francesca DeMaio who set the senior up with a breakaway to beat the goalie for her 11th goal of the year.
Kailey Hopkins recorded eight saves for the team's fifth shutout of the year. Brittany Cullison made seven saves for the Knights (3-5-1, 2-2-1 CSAC).
For the game, the Griffins outshot, Neumann, 13-11.
Gwynedd returns back to action on Saturday when they travel north to Clarks Summit for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
