Hot Shooting Sparks Men's Basketball Over Clarks Summit

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA. -- The Griffins won their fourth game in a row after a 93-72 win at Clarks Summit Thursday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.

Gwynedd was led by Arron Goodman and Cedric Elleby with 19 points apiece. Both players also led the team with nine rebounds each respectively.

A hot first half, GMercyU would take a 48-31 lead into the halftime break after shooting over 60% in the stanza (20-of-33). The Griffins took their largest lead of the half 43-25 thanks to a Goodman layup with 3:11 before the break.

In the second, GM would stretch their lead to 69-40 on a Will Davis jumper for their largest lead of the game.

The Griffins held Clarks Summit to 26-of-66 (39.4%) from the field for the game while outrebounding the Defenders, 43-23.Kyron Jones led all scorers with a 22 point performance for the Defenders (1-11, 0-5 CSAC).  John McCloskey (13) and Noah Lindsey (11) also reached double figures for Clarks Summit.

GMercyU shot a season-high 39-of-69 (56.5%) for the game. Davis would end up with 10 points in his first game for GM while Rich Dunham kicked in 11.

The Griffins return back to action on Saturday when they host Keystone at 3 p.m.
