ROSEMONT, PA. -- Five Griffins scored in double figures as Gwynedd Mercy rattled off an 88-68 CSAC win at Rosemont on Saturday.
Trailing by five midway in the second quarter, a 24-7 run to close the period helped put Gwynedd up for good. GMercyU took 46-34 lead into the econd half where they kept a double-digit lead throughout.
Charlotte Kucowski led the charge with 26 points and 12 rebounds, both game highs.
Nicole Dombrowski also added a double-double, tying a career high with 18 points along with 10 boards.
Julianna Hoisington chipped 15,
Bianca Adams with 13, and
Chyanne Fine netting 10.
The Griffins (8-8, 6-1 CSAC) led for most of the first quarter including a seven-point edge (16-9) with 3:43 remaining. Rosemont would go on an 11-2 spurt to take a 20-18 lead after one. The Ravens would go up as much as five (27-22) in the second before GM would start their game-changing run. Adams' triple with 6:26 in the period would give GMercyU the lead for good.
The team would shoot a season-high 49% (35-of-71), while hitting five three-pointers and going 13-of-17 at the free-throw line.
Shirle Brown led the Ravens (2-13, 1-6 CSAC) with 18 points. Ayanna Thompson kicked in 14 points, hitting four of the team's eight three-pointers.
Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Wednesday when they head to Cedar Crest for a conference clash.
