DOYLESTOWN, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Field Hockey team defeated Delaware Valley on Tuesday afternoon, 3-2, in a non-conference match-up.
Junior
Allie Bauder scored a pair of second half goals including the eventual game winning goal with just under nine minutes remaining in the contest.
Brianna O'Connell added a score and an assist.
O'Connell scored the game's first goal, 1:30 into the contest for a 1-0 edge. The Griffins would maintain that lead heading into the halftime break.
The Griffins went up 2-0, thanks to Bauder's first on the day, off of an assist by O'Connell to start the second half. The Aggies would cut the lead to 2-1 less than a minute later on a goal from Madi Colon. Del Val would keep the pressure tying the contest 2-2 with just under thirteen minutes remaining.
Bauder would secure the win with her second goal of the game on a sweeping backhand shot into the low right corner of the cage.
Samantha Soscia recorded seven saves for the Griffins (2-1) while Rosie Bishop made five stops for Del Val (0-3).
The Griffins will stay on the road traveling to Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham Saturday at 1 p.m.
