true 1 | true 2 CENTER VALLEY, PA. -- Casey Griffith was selected to the all-tournament team of the DeSales University Invitational to highlight Gwynedd Mercy over the weekend.
In Saturday's matches, the Griffins fell to Rutgers-Camden, 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 25-10, 26-24), and Baruch, 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-19).

Against the Scarlet-Raptors, Griffith would record a double-double, notching 12 kills and 23 digs, both match highs. Samantha Schearer added 10 kills with a pair of aces.

A wild first set that featured 10 ties and four lead changes, Gwynedd trailed 24-23, but ran off three-straight points with Griffith's kill to end it. The Griffins as a team hit 13-4-36 (.250) in the first set.

In the second, GMercyU got out to a 5-1 lead but a six-point run from R-C would put them ahead. The deficit grew to 18-9 before Gwynedd used their own rally to pull within 20-17. The Scarlet-Raptors netted the final three points to win, 25-19. The third set saw the Griffins tally just five kills en route to a 25-10 score.

Trailing 21-17 in the fourth set, Gwynedd used a huge rally to get to set point (24-22). Rutgers would score four-straight points to close out the match.

As a team, Gwynedd hit 38-24-129 (.109). Kerry McGlinn racked up 28 of the team's 34 assists while Laura Kirk added 12 digs.

Stats are not available for the match with Baruch at this time.

The Griffins (0-4) return to action on Thursday when they head to Valley Forge for a non-conference  match starting at 7 p.m.
