NEW YORK --
Meghan Petroski notched her third career hat trick as the Griffins had nine players record at least one point in a 6-0 shutout win at John Jay on Wednesday night.
Petroski added an assist to tie her career high of seven points which was set on October 13, 2015.
Tori Goebig recorded a score and an assist while
Morgan McAndrews and
Sarah Nedwick each chipped in with a score respectively.
Just seven minutes into the game, Petroski made it 1-0 on an assist from
Madeline Swartley. She would net her second in the 26th minute off a helper from
Anna Numerato. Goebig upped the lead just over three minutes later with her third tally on the season. It would be all Griffins at the half, 3-0.
In the second, Petroski added her third on the day, and fourth on the season as she took a cross from Goebig. Newick and McAndrews added goals to account for the scoring.
Goalie
Kailey Hopkins made five stops in goal to record her third shutout on the season.
GMercyU (3-2-2) take on Clarks Summit here on Saturday in a CSAC matchup starting at 1:30 p.m.
