BRYN ATHYN, PA. -- Danny Saba scored three times including the game-winning tally in overtime as Gwynedd Mercy rallied for a 3-2 win at Bryn Athyn on Thursday.

It was his first career hat trick which all helped erase a 2-0 halftime deficit and give GMercyU (3-3) their first win on the road this season.

The Lions (1-4) took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute and would go up 2-0 just over five minutes later.

Despite being outshot, 9-5, in the first half, the Griffins came out firing in the second, as Saba got Gwynedd on the board five minutes into the stanza on an assist from Cole Smith. The team would total nine shots and would finally tie things up with 17:38 left in regulation. This time, Chris Black set up Saba on his team-leading fourth assist to knot things up at 2-2.

Goalie Ryan Oyola made five saves as well as Bryn Athyn keeper Geri Alimadi.

Saba's hat trick is the third one recorded by a Griffin Fall Athlete in the last two weeks. The Field Hockey Team had two players tally the feat recently. Brianna O'Connell scored three at FDU-Madison last Saturday and Melissa Russo accomplished it Wednesday night at Widener.

Gwynedd Mercy returns home to face Widener this Saturday starting at noon.
