GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. --
Tony McCraw tied a single-game school record with eight points on five goals and three assists to help lead Gwynedd Mercy over Rosemont, 17-5, in a snowy Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
He is the fifth player in program history record eight points and the second time he has done so. McCraw would do the feat in a win at Neumann in 2014.
Ryan Simpson added a goal and five assists and
Jacob Snavely scored three times as the Griffins (6-4, 3-1 CSAC) scored the game's first four goals and didn't look back.
Zach Bowe would get the Ravens (2-9, 1-3 CSAC) on the board with his man-up tally late in the first. Snavely would answer with his first on the day on a set up McCraw. Just before the end of the quarter,
Nick Harkins picked off a pass and took it all the way to the other end to score his first goal of the season.
Goals from Simpson,
Tommy Belmont, and McCraw in the second helped Gwynedd to a 9-2 lead at the half.
Belmont,
Blase Cesarone, and
Joseph Pandolfi each had two scores apiece.
Stephen Licata led Rosemont with three goals while Bowe finished two and an assist.
Defensively, the team produced 13 caused turnovers from nine different players. Harkins led GMercyU with seven groundballs while
Brad Keeney added six.
Goalie
Sean Myers made seven saves in net. Kiefer Paul also made seven for Rosemont.
The Griffins return here next Saturday when they welcome Centenary on Senior Day in a 12 p.m. start.
