GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- An eight-goal burst by Moravian put Gwynedd Mercy in a deficit they could not climb out of as the Griffins fell to the Greyhounds, 17-5, Wednesday afternoon.
GMercyU got three goals from
Lauren Mitros, and one each from
Kerri Flanagan and
Carrie Kilgore.
Danae Perrymond tied a career-best with seven groundballs while adding three caused turnovers and a draw control.
Tied at 3-3 midway in the first half, Moravian would net three in a row over a seven-minute span to go up 6-3. Kilgore would make it 6-4 with 8:45 in the half before the Greyhounds tacked on two more for an 8-4 lead at the break.
Jillian Picciuto who had game highs of five goals and six assists for 11 points, would have a hand in four of the next six Moravian goals. Her fourth tally of the day coming at the 21:58 mark of the second put the Hounds up 13-4 and in control.
Jessica Pisano and Dalia Aguilar each had three scores for Moravian.
Gwynedd goalie
Bria Gillard faced 40 shots, and would make 14 saves on the day.
The Griffins (1-5) play at Immaculata on Tuesday in CSAC action starting at 7 p.m.
