DAYTONA BEACH, FL. – 14th-ranked Mary Washington took down Gwynedd Mercy, 70-44, on Thursday at the Land of Magic Classic.

The Griffins took a 17-11 lead after the first quarter as Charlotte Kucowski and Julianna Hoisington scored six points each in the frame. However, GMercyU (4-7) couldn't keep the pace in the second, scoring just three points in the stanza as the Eagles would take a 27-20 edge into the half.

Hoisington would finish with a team-high 12 points while Kucowski, who also snared six rebounds and hit three of the team's seven three-pointers, totaled 11.

Brianne Comden had 22 points while teammate Kendall Parker kicked in 19 off the bench for Mary Washington (11-0).

Gwynedd Mercy will get back at it in the New Year when they resume CSAC action on Thursday, January 5th with a road date at Clarks Summit.
