GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback Saturday afternoon to Cabrini University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up giving the Griffins their first CSAC defeat.

The Cavaliers (5-5-1, 2-1 CSAC) scored a late goal in the 2nd half when Bobby Kane headed in a throw in to put Cabrini up 1-0 in the 69th minute. The goal would stand up to be the winner after the Griffins (6-7, 2-1 CSAC) had a pair of opportunities later in the stanza to put a tally on the scoreboard but were unable to find the back of the net.

Despite only trailing 6-5 in corner kicks, GMercyU was out-shot 14-2.

Tyler Blair recorded five saves in the second half for the Griffins with Ryan Oyola making two stops in the first.

Gwynedd returns back to action on Tuesday when they host Cairn University at 6 p.m.
