ROSEMONT, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Soccer Team suffered a tough 1-0 double overtime defeat at Rosemont Saturday afternoon.

The Griffins (7-6-2, 5-4 CSAC) currently sit in the sixth and final playoff spot but need a win in one of their two games next week to lock up a postseason berth.

Statistically, the two teams were just about even, as the Ravens outshot the Griffins, 17-16, while each squad produced eight corner kicks apiece.

After a first half that saw nine combined shots, including Rosemont hitting the crossbar, the teams opened up in the second, as Gwynedd held an 11-10 shooting edge, but neither team could get on the board.

The Ravens (4-12, 4-6 CSAC) were able to win it after a shot from Victoria Kasper would deflect off a Griffin defender and past goalie Kailey Hopkins in the 105tth minute.

Hopkins finished the day with seven stops. Rosemont keeper Jenna Kaiser made four.

Gwynedd Mercy will host Cairn on Tuesday and Cabrini on Thursday to conclude the regular season.
