GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Volleyball Team closed out its home portion of their schedule against Cabrini, but it was the Cavaliers leaving The Griffin Complex with a 3-0 CSAC victory (25-14, 25-14, 25-11) Thursday evening.
The Griffins (9-15, 4-6 CSAC) need a win next Saturday at Notre Dame of Maryland and some help to keep their postseason aspirations alive.
The team posted a 19-16-83 (.036) hitting line on the night but just had one service ace and were guilty of 10 reception errors.
Casey Griffith would lead GMercyU with seven kills while
Samantha Schearer and
Liz Schule chipped in five apiece.
Cabrini (12-12, 9-0 CSAC) had two players hit for double figures in kills; Anne-Marie Jones with a game-high 12 and Chelsea Jones with 10. The Cavaliers produced a 38-12-91 (.286) hitting line as a team. Kaylee Plisinski recorded six blocks (four solo) along with a pair of kills.
Gwynedd Mercy will head to Alvernia on Saturday for a tri-match with the host Crusaders and St. Elizabeth. They'll then conclude the regular season on Saturday, October 29th at Notre Dame of Maryland.
