WESTMINSTER, MD. -- Senior
Rich Mychack (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) made his first goal of the season count, as it gave Gwynedd Mercy a 2-1 overtime win at McDaniel on Saturday for their first win of the season.
Mychack netted his sixth career game-winning tally, this time just 2:59 into the extra session. After a scoreless first half, the Green Terror would score a late goal to send the teams into overtime.
Sophomore
Eric Smith (Deptford, N.J./GCIT) made it 1-0 Gwynedd in the 67th minute with an unassisted score as he was able to go around McDaniel goalie Nick Over on a short breakaway.
Shots were nearly even at 13-11 after the first 90 minutes but McDaniel had three corner kicks while the Griffins had none. With less than eight minutes to go, Kerry Shut put the Green Terror on the board, unassisted.
Senior goalie
Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J./Phillipsburg) recorded just one save in his first start of the season. Over would make four stops.
Gwynedd Mercy will remain in the Baltimore area as they play at Stevenson tomorrow in a 4 p.m. start.
