Griffins Pick Up Second-Straight Shutout

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Senior Seth Lindner (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) scored the lone goal of the day off a pass across the box from junior Chris Black (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) to give the Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Soccer team a 1-0 victory over Penn State-Brandywine on Monday afternoon.

Lindner's second career goal came early in the contest, putting Gwynedd ahead in the 12th minute.

The Griffins only had a slight advantage in shots at 4-3 over the Nittany Lions at the break.  A second half offensive surge would push the Griffins to outshoot Brandywine, 11-7 overall. GM had a minor advantage in corners at 3-2.

Senior goalkeeper Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J./Phillipsburg) made five saves in the win for the Griffins (3-7). Pat O'Neill also made five stops on the day for Penn State-Brandywine (2-5).

The Griffins are back in action this Thursday, October 1st when they take on Lancaster Bible College for another non-conference matchup starting at 4 p.m.
