Offense, Defense Shine In Road Win At Notre Dame

BALTIMORE, MD. -- The Griffin Women's Soccer Team posted its second-straight conference shutout victory, recording a 6-0 win at Notre Dame of Maryland on Wednesday.

Sophomore Meghan Petroski (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) and freshman Morgan McAndrews (Broomall, Pa./Marple-Newtown) each scored two goals while junior Brittany Mitchell (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) and rookie Christina Surette (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) added their first scores of the season.

Gwynedd (4-2-1, 2-0 CSAC) had seven shots in the first half, but made them count, netting five of their tallies in the stanza. Petroski and McAndrews potted their firsts of the day all before the 10 minute mark to build and early lead. The two would find the back of the net later in the period, scoring within a minute each.

For the contest, GM outshot the Gators, 13-12. Senior goalie Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) made four saves for her 23rd career clean sheet. Meghan O'Connor also had four stops for Notre Dame (6-2, 0-2 CSAC).

The Griffins resume action on Saturday when the host Centenary in a CSAC matchup starting at 3 p.m. Saturday's game features up-and-coming singer Aishlinn Kivlighn to sing our National Anthem. She also has a single that has just been released called "Unstoppable".  For more information, you can head to:  www.aishlinnkivlighn.com
