CHESTER, PA. -- An early first-half score was the difference as Widener handed Gwynedd Mercy its fifth defeat in a row in a 1-0 loss Saturday night.

The Pride's Eric Taylor was able to beat Gwynedd keeper Matt Chilcote (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) with a chip shot from just outside the box. Widener outshot the Griffins 28-2, including a 12 to zero advantage on corner kicks. The Pride recorded 12 shots on target, while the Griffins notched one shot on goal.

Widener (3-3-1) kept Chilcote on his toes as he recorded 11 saves in the loss for Gwynedd Mercy (1-6).

The Griffins will look snap the streak on Wednesday when they head down route 309 to square off with Arcadia in a 5 p.m. kickoff.
