GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Griffins dropped a 2-0 decision against the Shorewomen of Washington College
on Tuesday night. Now 2-2-1 the Griffins have a little less than a week to prepare for conference play.
The Shorewomen had a clear advantage in shots (10-4) over the Griffins before the break. Although neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, Gwynedd had a slight advantage in corners at 2-0.
Just eight minutes in the second, Maribeth Harrington connected with Emani Silva across the box to put the Shorewomen up 1-0. Struggling to connect offensively, the Griffins could not find that spark to get on the board. The Shoremwomen would strike again off a cross pass into the box to go up 2-0 when Lexi Young found Olivia Sabatino in from of the net with
16:39 remaining.Â
Junior Melissa Barry secured the win for the Shorewomen with four saves. Senior
Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) closed out the day with five for the Griffins.
The Griffins begin the Colonial State Athletic Conference portion of their schedule this
coming Saturday when they take on the Falcons of Cedar Crest College. Kickoff is set for
12 p.m.Â
