GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Soccer team dropped 2-0 to the Jays of Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon. Now 1-4 the Griffins are still fighting to notch their first home win of the season and break a four game losing streak.
The Jays got on the board at 41:43 when Jeff Light found Martin Fevre in the middle of the box to go up 1-0. Not much later in the second half, the Jays struck again to go up 2-0 when Gilbert Waso put a rebound off Griffin goalie
Matt Chilcote (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) in the back of the net.
With Elizabethtown's strong offensive presence the Griffins were unable to build offensive momentum. Sophomore
Eric Smith (Deptford, N.J./GCIT) was the only Griffin to register a shot on the day.Â
Elizabethtown outshot the Griffins by a large margin of 23-1. They also had a clear advantage in corners at 16-4.Â
