Volleyball Season Comes To A Close

LAPLUME, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy's 2015 season came to a close as the Griffins fell 3-1 (25-17, 25-12, 22-25, 25-11) at Keystone Wednesday evening.

Freshman Samantha Schearer posted her first double double of the season, going for a career-high 11 kills and tying a personal best with 13 digs. She would also add a pair of aces and a solo block. Senior Brianna Greer added seven kills and Lauren Tressel chipped in four.

Four players reach double digits in kills, led by Tressel with 15, junior Laura Kirk with 14, Schearer with 13 and Rachael Hall with 12.

Facing a 2-0 deficit, Gwynedd would continue the match using a strong run late in the set, turning a 20-19 Keystone lead into a 24-22 lead. Greer would end the third with her third kill of the set for a 25-22 win.

The Giants had their own streak to start the fourth, jumping out to a 6-0 lead. GM would keep the deficit to 15-9 before Keystone ran off seven-straight to take a 22-9 advantage and go on and seal the match.

Hannah Zuchowski led Keystone (19-5, 9-2 CSAC) with nine kills, 18 digs, five aces and a solo block.
