IMMACULATA, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Women's Soccer Team extended their unbeaten streak to six games with their 2-1 win over Immaculata Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference Game.
Sophomore
Meghan Petroski (Philadelphia, Pa. / Little Flower) put the Griffins (9-3-2, 7-1 CSAC) on the scoreboard first with her first half goal, her team-leading 13th of the season, on an assist from
Megan Gifford (North Wales, Pa. / Lansdale Catholic). GM would maintain the 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
Immaculata (3-9-2, 3-4-1 CSAC) would tie the contest at 1-1 in the 52nd minute on a score from Morgan McDonough. However Petroski would assist the game-winning goal by
Jessica Fath (Tremont, Pa. / Pine Grove) to give the Griffins the 2-1 edge. It was Fath's second career goal and second game-winner.
Senior goalkeeper
Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill West) recorded six saves while IU keeper Elizabeth McBride recorded eight.
The Griffins return back to action on Tuesday when they host Marywood at 6 p.m.
