ROSEMONT, PA. -- Sophomore
Matt Saba (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) broke a tie with 17 seconds remaining in regulation as his goal gave Gwynedd Mercy a 2-1 CSAC win at Rosemont Wednesday night.
Saba would score his second of the season and his first game-winner on a night that saw all three goals come within the final 27 minutes of play. Senior
Rich Mychack (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) set up Saba with a pass into the box from the left side exactly nine minutes after the Ravens were able to knot things up at 1-1.
After a scoreless first half, where Rosemont outshot GM, 8-4, the Griffins (5-9-1, 2-1-1 CSAC) put together 10 attempts in the second. In the 63rd minute, Mychack would set up
Danny Saba (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) on a header for his fourth tally of the season.
Cavit Ula would answer for Rosemont (0-12-1, 0-5 CSAC) with an unassisted score in the 81st minute.
Goalie
Greg Gengaro (Bloomsbury, N.J./Phillipsburg) and Rosemont keeper Zach Bowe each made five stops.
The Griffins resume action on Saturday when they welcome Immaculata on Senior Day in a CSAC affair starting at noon.
