LANGHORNE, PA. -- Sophomore Jackie Pierson (Lansdale, Pa./Archbishop Wood) scored twice, including the eventual game-winner with just under 15 minutes left in regulation as Gwynedd Mercy defeated Cairn, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Morgan McAndrews (Broomall, Pa./Marple-Newtown) added a score and an assist as GM stayed unbeaten in their last three contests.

The Griffins would fire off 12 shots in the first half and get on the board when Pierson netted her first on the day in the 16th minute. Entering the second half tied at 1-1, McAndrews netted her fourth of the season, early in the stanza for the lead.

But back came the Highlanders in the 57th minute, tying the game at 2-2 on a goal from Meghan Wilson.

GM would total 24 shots while Cairn registered eight. The Griffins kept Cairn's Mackenzie Pugh busy, as she made 13 stops. Senior goalie Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) would finish with four.

Gwynedd Mercy returns home on Tuesday where they'll entertain Neumann in a 6 p.m. start.
