GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. - Gwynedd Mercy had their win streak come to an end as #3 The College of New Jersey stopped the Griffins, 4-1, Tuesday evening.

The Griffins (4-3), who were on a four-game unbeaten string entering the contest, were outshot, 18-3, and had three penalty corners to TCNJ's 18.

The third-ranked (NFHCA) Lions got a goal and two assists from Lindsey Hatch and a goal and a helper from Lexi Smith.

Hatch assisted on the first goal at the 10:27 mark on a score from Victoria Martin. Just over two minutes later, Hatch converted on one of the three penalty corner goals for the Lions on the night.

Gwynedd was awarded a penalty stroke in the 44th minute after a stopped ball in the crease. Freshman Brianna O'Connell (Berlin, N.J./Eastern) converted on the attempt to make it a 3-1 contest. TCNJ would add the final goal in the 59th minute.

Senior goalie Kelly Kruk (Phoenixville, Pa./Methacton) recorded 10 saves. The tandem of Kelly Schlupp and Amanda Krause combined to make one save for the Lions.

GM will welcome Notre Dame of Maryland on Friday in the conference opener for the Griffins in a 6 p.m. start.
