SCRANTON, PA. -- Nine saves from Jess Tadley (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) and a goal from Theo Horozoglou (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) early in the contest was all Gwynedd Mercy needed in a 1-0 win at Marywood on Saturday in the CSAC opener for both teams.

Tadley notched her second shutout this season and 17th in her career as the junior made six stops in the first half, and three in the second for Gwynedd (3-4, 1-0 CSAC).

In the 10th minute, Horozoglou would score her second of the season and fifth-career tally, settling a bouncing ball off a long throw in from Megan Gifford (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) for the early lead.

Emily Osbourne made three saves for the Pacers (0-7, 0-1 CSAC), who outshot GM, 16-6.

Gwynedd continues conference play on Wednesday with a road date at Neumann in a 7 p.m. start.
