SCRANTON, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy went 1-3 over the weekend at the Scranton Invitational, picking up their first win of the season in the process.

On Friday, the Griffins took on the host Royals, but fell, 3-0. Set scores were 25-13, 25-7, 27-25. Later GM battled St. Joseph's (NY) but also lost a similar 3-0 contest (25-19, 25-15, 25-23).

Saturday saw LaRoche hand GM a 3-0 setback (25-17, 25-23, 25-20). Gwynedd would close out the trip with a 3-0 victory over Bard (25-20, 25-15, 25-18), giving first-year head coach Erich Trautwein his first coaching victory.

Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Penn State-Brandywine for a non-conference matchup starting at 7 p.m.
