BOX SCORE Game 1 | BOX SCORE Game 2GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Sophomore
Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) picked up two wins on the mound, including a no-hitter in game two as the Griffins swept a CSAC twinbill from Cedar Crest on Wednesday. GM won game one, 10-0, and the second, 12-0.
Lamont only yielded one hit in the first game, striking out six in the process. A seven-run third inning helped GM jump out on top keyed by RBI triples from senior
Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and freshman
Nikki Canfield (Souderton, Pa./Souderton).
Farrar was officially 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a double, and a run scored. Canfield was 1-for-2 with a run scored, walked, and stole a base.
In game two, Farrar and
MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) each added three hits as GM got out early, thanks to a six-run first inning.
It was more than enough for Lamont, who fanned four, while allowing only one baserunner via a walk in the second.
Ballerino would double, triple, steal a base all while finishing 3-for-3 with three RBI's and two runs scored.
The Griffins (4-11, 4-0 CSAC) look to stay unbeaten in conference play as they travel to Baptist Bible on Friday in a 3 p.m. start for two with the Defenders.
