GLENSIDE, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy lost a pair of games at Arcadia on Sunday, falling, 8-0 in game one and a close 2-1 defeat in game two.

For the second consecutive day, the Griffins suffered a tough walk-off defeat in the second game. Yesterday, Immaculata plated the go-ahead run in the seventh to win game two, 4-3. The Knights would end this second game scoring on an error with two outs and two on. A grounder to short was targeted for a force out at second but the throw was wild, allowing the game-winning run to score.

After getting out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth, Gwynedd would tie it at 1-1, getting a run in the top of the seventh as MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) took advantage on an error in center to tie it up.  She would reach on a single before a base hit up the middle from Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) sent her to third. A misplay by the center fielder allowed Ballerino to score.

Starter Jennifer Whalen (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) allowed just one earned run on seven hits.

In game one, Ballerino had both Griffin hits as Arcadia scored runs in the first, second, and third innings to lead 5-0. The Knight's Erin Wilson fanned nine Griffins as Arcadia plated their eighth run in the sixth.

Gwynedd Mercy (6-17) is back on the road tomorrow with a rescheduled CSAC Doubleheader at Keystone starting at 3 p.m.
