BALTIMORE, MD. -- Gwynedd Mercy swept a doubleheader at Notre Dame of Maryland in CSAC action for the Griffins' first wins of the season. GM took game one, 12-0, and the second, 13-1.

Sophomore Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) earned the wins in both contests, totaling 10 strikeouts with just one run on seven hits in the two games.

In game one, sophomore Kelsey McDonough (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) doubled and homered, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) also went deep, totaling three RBIs as well. Lamont also added three runs scored and two RBIs.

GM scored four runs each in the first three innings. Lamont would fan six Gators while allowing just five hits.

Game two saw senior Stephanie Farrar (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) go for two triples, while scoring twice and sophomore Alexis Deal (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock South) added two doubles and Ballerino drive in another three runs.

Lamont surrendered one run on just two hits with four K's and two walks. Her, along with Megan Kelly (Ivyland, Pa./Little Flower), each stole two bases.

The Griffins (2-11, 2-0 CSAC) DH at Keystone tomorrow has been postponed with no makeup date at this time. GM will be back in action on Friday as they have their home opener against defending champion Neumann at 3 p.m.
