SWARTHMORE, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell at the hands of Swarthmore in a non-conference twinbill on Sunday, losing game one, 8-0, and game two, 5-1.

The Garnet's Sarina Lowe did it on the mound and at the plate in game one, allowing just three hits and hitting a three-run home run in the fourth.  The Griffins would put two on with one out in the top of the fourth, but come up empty. Starter Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) took the loss, and had one of the three hits.

Lamont would go 2-for-3 in game two, but Gwynedd (0-11) found itself down 4-0 after three. MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) would single and later score on a wild pitch for the lone Griffin run in the fourth.

Jennifer Whalen (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) came in relief of starter Sarah Rosetti (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) in the second and would yield just four hits in four scoreless innings.

Clara Obstfeld went 3-for-3 with two RBI's for Swarthmore (4-6)

Gwynedd Mercy will open CSAC play on Friday when they travel to Notre Dame of Maryland for two starting at 3 p.m.
