CHESTER, PA. -- Widener swept a non-conference twinbill over the Griffins on Saturday, winning game one 14-0, and game two, 8-2.

Game one saw Widener hold the Gwynedd offense to just one hit. The Pride took a 1-0 lead into the second and would score eight runs on 10 hits to open up a sizable lead.

Starter Ashley Lamont (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) look the loss, getting roughed up in two innings of work.

In game two, the teams were tied at 2-2 going into the bottom of the fourth before Widener plated two runs in the frame and three more in the fifth.

Sarah Rosetti (Norristown, Pa./Norristown) was touched up for six earned runs on seven hits as she went into the fifth. Alexis Deal (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock South) had an RBI sac fly in the first and Nikki Canfield (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) added an RBI single in the fourth.

Gwynedd Mercy (0-9) will look to break into the win column tomorrow as they travel to Swarthmore for a doubleheader starting at noon.
