BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy won their fourth game in a row after defeating Rosemont, 76-61, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contest Wednesday evening at the Griffin Complex.

Junior Seth Heinicke (Warminster, Pa./Calvary) led four Griffins in double figures with 18 points. Sophomore Julian Hyden (Trevose, Pa./Bensalem) chipped in 13 while Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and Darnell Artis (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) each added 12.

The Griffins (17-5, 13-2 CSAC) would use a late 10-0 scoring run to break a 52-52 tie with just over eight minutes in the game.  GM would force 22 turnovers which led to 27 points and hit key free throws down the stretch to salt the victory.

Dom Scafidi led the Ravens (10-13, 8-8 CSAC) with 15 points and eight rebounds. Nadir Stukes contributed 12 points.

Rosemont kept things within reach in the first half as Gwynedd would build a 35-26 lead at the break. The Griffins, who shot 43% in the first and held the Ravens to a 34% clip, saw their lead slowly erode. A trey from Khai Roberts made it a three-point game (45-42) at the 14:06 mark. Later, Stukes was able to knot the contest up at 48-48 with his driving layin.

Knight's dunk off a steal plus the GM defense forcing five-straight turnovers kickstarted a 10-0 spurt over the next four minutes to restore a double-digit lead. Back-to-back three-point plays from Hyden and Heinicke would help put the Ravens in the Griffin rearview mirrors.

The Griffins were outrebounded for just the fourth time this season (37-35). Knight pulled down a team-high six and dished out a career-high eight assists.

Gwynedd Mercy travels to Neumann on Saturday for a CSAC tilt starting at 1 p.m. With a win, GM can clinch a first-round playoff bye.
