BOX SCOREIMMACULATA, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy closed out the first half on a 29-11 run, opening up a double-digit lead to go on an pick up a 74-53 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory at Immaculata Monday night.

Justin Knight (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) and sophomore
Julian Hyden (Trevose, Pa./Bensalem) each had 16 points for Gwynedd (16-5, 12-2 CSAC), who won their third in a row.
GM got off to a 7-0 start, only to see the Mighty Macs (9-11, 7-6 CSAC) rally to tie things up at 14-14 with 10:25 left in the stanza. That's when Gwynedd honed in from downtown, connecting on six of their seven three's in the half in the final 9:35. Hyden's bucket made it a 20-point lead with just over a minute to go, but IU was able to beat the buzzer. The Griffins held a 43-25 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Gwynedd defense limited Immaculata to under 40% shooting (37%) to pick up the win.
Barry Brockington and Brandon Smith netted 11 points apiece for IU.
Knight grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Sophomore
Darnell Artis (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) chipped in 15 points, six assists, and five boards.
Gwynedd Mercy welcomes Rosemont on Wednesday to the Griffin Complex for a CSAC clash starting at 7 p.m.
