BOX SCORE

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Marywood entered the Griffin Complex Tuesday night and left with a 3-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match. Set scores were 25-15, 25-11, and 25-20.

The Griffins (6-22, 1-8 CSAC) were looking to stop a seven-game winless streak but came up short in the three-set loss.

Sophomore Kasey Loring (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East)with a team-high seven kills as she posted her best hitting percentage of the season (.375) on a 7-1-16 hitting line. Freshman Jessica Behr (Philadelphia, Pa./MaST Charter) added four kills, two solo blocks and two aces, however Gwynedd totaled 18 kills and 18 errors on 105 attempts.

Ashley Zalewski led the Pacers (10-7, 7-2 CSAC), notching a match-high 13 kills with no errors on 23 tries. She also had two solo blocks. Mikayla Bristol chipped a double-double (10 kills/12 digs) along with a game-high six aces. As a team Marywood was 41-16-119 (.210).

Marywood would lead from start to finish in taking the first two sets. The third featured a set of runs, as the Griffins looked to start a rally in the match. GM tabbed five-straight points early on to take an 8-7 edge. The Pacers responded with six in a row of their own before the Griffins hit four-straight to trail 13-12. As you could guess, Marywood then netted four points in a row on kills from Zalewski and Amy Kester. Gwynedd would give it one last push, getting four in a row to pull within 22-20, but three-straight kills from the Pacers would help cement the final score.

Gwynedd Mercy, who has been eliminated from postseason contention, will play their final home match of the season next Wednesday night when they welcome Rosemont in a 6 p.m. start.
