IMMACULATA, PA. -- Sophomore Laura Kirk (Saegertown, Pa./Maplewood) tallied a career-high 16 kills but it wasn't enough as Immaculata downed the Griffins, 3-0 (27-25, 25-14, 25-14), on Saturday.

Kirk also added a team-high 17 digs for her sixth double-double on the season.

Freshman Lauren Martin (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) 28 assists and 11 digs as the Griffins (6-21, 1-7 CSAC) hit 29-23-125 (.048) on the day.

Jamie Rombach had 10 kills for the Mighty Macs while Allie Leonard added four aces and 10 digs.

The first set saw 10 ties and eight score changes but it was Gwynedd that couldn't hold a 24-22 lead as IU would later rack up three-straight points to pull out a 27-25 win. Set two saw the Griffins get out ahead early (5-1) before a 15-3 spurt put Immaculata back on top. In the final set, IU netted the final six points to take a 25-14 win and close out the match.

The Griffins will host Marywood on Tuesday evening in CSAC action starting at 7 p.m.
