BOX SCORELAPLUME, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy improved to 11-3 and stayed unbeaten in CSAC play with a 7-0 win at Keystone for their seventh win in a row.
Five players finished with multiple points led by two goals from
Brianna O'Connell (Berlin, N.J./Eastern) Fellow rookie
Melissa Russo (Saylorsbug, Pa./Pleasant Valley) added a goal and two assists as the Griffins scored four times in the game's first 20 minutes to go on and lead 6-0 at the half.
Senior goalie
Kelly Kruk (Phoenixville, Pa./Methacton) made nine saves for her second shutout of the season and 17th career blanking.
Brittany Wilson (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland),
Megan Senkeleski (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank) and
Katie O'Neill (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) added a score and assist respectively while
Stephanie Bacho (Cinnaminson, N.J./Holy Cross) also found the back of the net.
The Griffins totaled 30 shots and registered 20 penalty corners. Keystone (2-14, 1-4 CSAC) had 11 shots and seven corners.
GM will take on Immaculata on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. With a win, Gwynedd can clinch a playoff berth.
